Roy Fugazy has been working in the Fugazy family travel and transportation business his whole career. After spending his college summers working in the Fugazy transportation group of companies, Roy officially joined as Director of Dispatch and Hotel Operations in 1982.
Roy expanded his oversight and management responsibilities to include Fugazy International Travel in 1989. The Fugazy business started in travel and has remained an important focus. Under his leadership, the travel business grew including the acquisition of several travel companies and partnerships with airlines, hotels, and global travel companies.
In 2002, Roy formed a strategic alliance with Altour forging one of the largest travel management companies in the United States and globally with combined sales of $4 billion. The agency serves the corporate, leisure luxury, mid-markets, and entertainment community with 53 offices and more than 1,300 travel professionals worldwide,
Roy has a keen ability to identify market needs and create services to meet those needs. Recognizing the demand for coordinated travel and transportation services for events, he established the Fugazy Sports & Entertainment division and took over leadership in 2006.
Fugazy Sports & Entertainment (FS&E) was established by Roy to provide services in all facets of transportation logistics for major sporting and entertainment events. In addition to the vehicle, bus, and travel coordination, FS&E has become a key partner in vehicle sponsorship programs, working with; BMW, Lexus, Mercedes Benz, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Rolls Royce, and Toyota.
Throughout his career, Roy has dedicated time to the community. From coaching all of his children’s sports to establishing a youth lacrosse association, Roy’s passion for sports and his community has always been a priority. Roy has served on the Board of the Mamaroneck Youth Hockey Association, the Board of Regents of the Catholic University of America, the Board of Trustees of Molloy University, and the Parents Committee of Villanova University. Other positions held include Cardinal’s Committee of the Laity, Board of Director Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Board of Trustees for New York State Police Foundation, Chairman of March of Dimes golf tournament, and Chairman Ken Venturi Guiding Eyes Classic.
Today Roy enjoys watching his three grandsons Henry, Will, and Charlie compete on the athletic field and golf course alongside his granddaughter Ellie until she is ready to join her three brothers!
Rory Fugazy is part of the fifth generation of the family to lead the organization. Rory grew up around the business at his father’s side and officially joined as Chief Operating Officer in the summer of 2021.
In his role as COO, Rory is in charge of day-to-day operations, ensuring the success of client events, and executing the company’s long-term goals. Rory is part of client service strategy setting, execution of services, and ongoing business improvements. During events, you may be able to find him at the center of activity leading the Fugazy team’s home base but he’s more than likely in the field checking on and managing all facets, including personnel, cars, shuttles, and busing.
Rory received his degree in Finance and Communications from the Villanova University School of Business and started a career in the professional sports industry producing live and digital content. Rory developed his production knowledge, team working, and management style in the fast-paced environment of media organizations like GOLF.com and the MLB and NHL Networks. Rory’s work as a producer earned him seven Sports Emmy® Awards.
His hands-on experience in digital content and broadcast television combined with personal relationships within sports and media is a successful combination for Fugazy Sports & Entertainment to provide unique one-of-a-kind client experiences. Rory brings together his skills and well-established network of resources to deliver programs to meet client requirements and optimize earning potential.
When Rory is not working you can find him driving Buck Fugazy around and producing a weekly podcast, Son of a Butch with Claude Harmon III. In his not-so-free time, Rory is an avid golfer.
Scarlett Fugazy is part of the fifth generation of the family to work in the organization. Inspired by trips to dad’s New York City office for Take Your Children to Work Day, she is the first female family member to serve in a full-time leadership role.
After graduating from Denison University with a degree in Communications, Scarlett worked at her first US Open Tennis Championships in 2016. She describes the experience as the best preparation for any career and a crash course in the Fugazy Sports & Entertainment business.
Scarlett is responsible for working with clients, event sponsors, and the many different businesses that come together to create events of all sizes. Since 2021, she serves as the Director of Events, where she leads events from inception to completion, ensuring event details are coordinated across the Fugazy team and exceed client expectations.
Before joining FS&E full-time, Scarlett honed her account management skills in different creative services roles where her creativity and attention to detail led to her success. Like her father, Scarlett enjoys coaching youth sports. She currently serves as a coach for girls’ youth lacrosse.
Scarlett’s accomplishments are a sports enthusiast’s dream. Scarlett ran the 2016 NYC Marathon, witnessed the NY Giants 2012 Super Bowl win, and the 2009 NY Yankees World Series championship. In her free time, Scarlett enjoys sports documentaries, playing tennis, running, spending time with family, and cheering on the NY Giants.
Robbie Williams recently joined the team as Fugazy Sports & Entertainment’s Director of Finance. In his role, Robbie is responsible for our financial health, overseeing: accounting operations, financial planning and analysis, and budgeting. This critical role serves as a consistent resource for tracking, forecasting, and reporting on project budgets for our clients.
With a Business Administration degree in Finance & Economics from the University of Richmond, Robbie gained experience in financial operations working in banking, asset management, and other industries. Before joining FS&E, Robbie spent more than ten years working in consulting and professional services in the financial services industry.
Sporting event management is part of Robbie’s upbringing. His grandmother, Barbara Wiliams, was the
Vice President of the United States Tennis Association (USTA). In addition to being one of the first female officers for the USTA, she was also the first female President of the Eastern Tennis Association. The USTA recognized her pioneering and commitment to the organization by creating The Barbara Williams Leadership Award. The accolade recognizes a female volunteer who through her leadership and by her example, has encouraged and inspired others to become volunteers and assume leadership roles at the community, section, and /or national levels of the USTA.
When he is not working, you can find Robbie on the golf course. He’s an avid golfer regularly competing in amateur tournaments and is a past Club Champion of Winged Foot Golf Club.
Ricky Velasquez is an event coordinator for the Fugazy Sports & Entertainment team. In his role, he helps manage all client details and works closely with other team members to coordinate third-party vendor support to ensure the execution of each program.
Many of our large events begin planning more than 12 months in advance, and Ricky is involved from day one. On event days, Ricky leads the implementation and management of various facets of the program/venue, including cars, buses, shuttles, and personnel.
Ricky began his sports and event logistics career working in the UConn Football Operations, where he assisted with practice and game preparation, travel, and equipment logistics. He honed his event coordination skills by leading student managers in day-to-day operations and collaborated on Football Facility projects with the Director of Football Operations. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut in Allied Health Sciences, M.S Sport Management.
A multi-sport enthusiast, Ricky is either watching football or playing golf. He gives back to his community through his sports too. He participates in the Be the One Foundation Golf tournament which raises funds to provide for those less fortunate. Ricky’s accomplishments include completing a 4-day 26-mile trek on the Incan Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru, reaching an altitude of 13,900 feet.
Omar Bashqoy is the coordinator of bus & shuttles and has worked in multiple capacities for the past 7+ years. He started working with us in the transportation business at North Fork Express as a bus counter and worked his way up to dispatcher.
Coordinator for Fugazy Sports & Entertainment (FS&E). He is the familiar face you see at FS&E events organizing individuals and groups of people, ensuring everyone gets to where they need to be safely and on time.
Omar really shines at events like The US Open Tennis Championships. He worked with the FS&E team at his first US Open event in (2018) and every event since. Each year, you can find Omar coordinating people and transportation for thousands of people across the NYC metro area over multiple weeks for the event. He handles it all with precision and a smile.
In his free time, Omar likes to travel and meet new people. He’s a motorcycle and car enthusiast who enjoys spending time with his dog Ziggy at his favorite local swimming spot.
“Big Mo” has been part of the Fugazy team since 2006 serving as the lead for event bus operations. He has become an ambassador for Fugazy events with guests recognizing his smile and a warm welcome for all.
In his role, Big Mo is responsible for planning Fugazy event bus transportation drivers, routes, and schedules. One of his key responsibilities includes keeping the event team and our customers informed.
With him on the job, we know event transportation will be safe, well-coordinated, and on time.
Big Mo’s decades-long bus transportation career started with Royal Jordanian Airlines where he was consistently recognized for his customer service. In addition, his driving and supervision experience enabled him to secure certification as a New York state 19A examiner and school bus driver instructor.
During his tenure at North Fork Express charter bus company, Big Mo moved through the ranks to events manager and project manager where his supervisory and management skills continued to shine. In 2006, he worked on his first US Open Tennis event for Fugazy Sports & Entertainment and the rest is history.
Big Mo is a Jordanian-born Long Islander who loves sports, traveling, and meeting new people. He and his wife have six children and four grandchildren keeping them busy when not working. If you hear him
Allison Derobertis is the Reservations Manager for Fugazy Transportation. In this role, she serves as the front line for all our transportation bookings.
Allison brings more than 25 years of experience in transportation to her role at Fugazy. Every reservation and event transportation plan involves Allison and her team, including all transportation venues, both for events and private car service for Fugazy Transportation.
She brings her years of experience to manage transportation programs from end-to-end, including consulting with clients to understand their needs and proposing the best solutions, issuing confirmations, itineraries, and troubleshooting any problems. Allison’s team is always there to provide information and offer assistance with domestic and international ground transportation.
When you meet Allison, be sure to ask her about the first time she cooked a turkey and her love of muscle cars, and don’t hold it against her that she is a Tom Brady fan. She’s a fan of football, Elton John, Pink Floyd, and Kermit the Frog.
Marybeth Quinn is the Vice President of Fugazy Travel. In her role, she oversees all aspects of branch management and our corporate travel business. For the last 38 years, she has set the standard for customer service excellence across the organization handling all aspects of travel.
She works with clients on all aspects of their accounts from cost savings analysis for air, car, and hotel to reconciling credit card reports. Her account-level management includes managing corporate guidelines and budgets while creating travel itineraries that ensure the best flight routing and rates.
Marybeth has connections across all types of travel suppliers to negotiate discounts, preferred rates, obtaining preferred seating, and perks like first-class upgrades whenever possible. Managing and pre-screening hotel suppliers is one of her specialties, ensuring amenities and Covid-compliance requirements are met so travelers can relax.
Her hands-on oversight of traveler activity includes monitoring traveler flights throughout the trip for any airline or weather glitches that may need to be addressed. With her connections and experience, she is an expert at aligning timing the air, car, and hotel services to ensure smooth travel.
Marybeth exemplifies the Fugazy Legacy of Service and is our secret weapon to long-term client retention.
Angie Collins has spent her entire career, more than 30 years, in the travel industry. In her role as Director of Client Services, she oversees our corporate and leisure travel and corporate group business.
She has been a key contributor to delivering on Fugazy’s Legacy of Service. Saving clients’ time and simplifying travel booking is her superpower.
Angie works across all aspects of our client’s business, starting with ensuring corporate clients have the most effective routing and pricing for their needs and corporate policies, plus aligning car rentals and hotel reservations for seamless travel.
Corporate groups are where Angie shines. From managing budgets and reservations to tracking departure manifests and weather issues and creating meaningful client reports to make sure everyone is informed. Her comprehensive reporting spreadsheets are legendary at the Fugazy offices.
Angie believes in delivering a personal experience and going beyond expectations for every client. Whether it is business or leisure travel, she is inspired to exceed expectations and deliver a custom-made experience for each journey.
Buck Fugazy is one of our newest team members. As Director of K9 Security, Buck is responsible for greeting visitors and chasing tennis balls.
Buck joins a long line of Fugazy German Shepherd dogs who came to the office with their parents/owners. Over the years, Bill Fugazy would take his many dogs like Champ, Murphy, Kelly, George, and Fugy to name a few, to the office daily. Roy Fugazy would often bring his dog, Dutch, to college classes, lacrosse practice, and games.
Before joining the Fugazy team, Buck was a puppy. However, don’t let his young age fool you, at just one year old, he was a credentialed attendee at The US Open. Buck has big dreams and is currently training to become a certified therapy dog. His notable recognition includes being named Dogtopia of Port Chester’s Dog of the Week (9/26/22).
In his free time, Buck enjoys riding in his Toyota Tacoma pickup truck with his head out the back window. Buck looks forward to meeting clients and visitors of all types. When you see him, be sure to tell him he’s a good boy and the best Fugazy team member.
